Job Description

Represents Company in a professional manner consistent with the goals and objectives of the Company and the Business Development Department. Primarily responsible for conducting risk assessments and managing risk control services for a portfolio of accounts. Responsible for developing or enhancing risk control policies, practices, and new products/services for clients. Represents Company as an expert on risk control subjects through public speaking engagements, seminars, and content development. Markets risk control services. Provides technical advice and account information to underwriting and business development for risk assessment and analysis.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree; preferably in occupational/industrial safety, engineering, or other hard sciences. An advanced degree is desirable.

At least 7 years prior risk control or risk management experience in the insurance industry, relative to workers’ compensation. Experience with other lines of coverage such as Auto Liability or General Liability is desirable.

Certifications/designations of ARM, ALCM, or CSP are desirable.

Extensive knowledge of workers’ compensation insurance, OSHA regulations, and safety / risk control management techniques.

Proficiency in Windows-based computer software systems and programs, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with online presentation software (WebEx, etc) is a plus.

Requires someone professional, dependable, organized, motivated, efficient, and accountable with a mature attitude.

Excellent oral and written communication skills, including public speaking and presentation skills. Previous public speaking engagements at industry conferences is a plus. Previous experience with writing articles for trade journals is a plus.

Must be able to prioritize tasks and work on multiple items simultaneously.

Must be able to use a personal laptop computer, telephone, and Smartphone.

Must be able to travel overnight regularly to client locations via airplane and rental car, and stay at hotels.
