Individual in this role will be responsible for the management of department staff and auto claims adjustment activities for specified lines of business and geographical territory.
Essential Responsibilities:
Provide day to day leadership for an 40+ person department including direct management of supervisory level staff and oversight of staff hiring, training, promotions, transfers and salary administration
Analyze and resolve claim issues, analyze claim department needs and set appropriate objectives
Manage loss adjustment activities by ensuring compliance with laws, regulating claims procedures and application of policy coverages
Responsible for delivery of claims qualitiy of service therby directly impacting the sales and renewals of existing business
Determine most efficient utilization of resources to produce prompt, accurate claims settlement, managing to expense budgets and positively impacting profit to loss ratios
Authorizes claims settlements using discretionary limit delegated by senior management
Daily contact and communication with clients, attorneys, insureds, internal staff and regulatory agencies as necessary
Assist senior management in establishing claims policies and procedures and ensure proper investigation and settlement of claims.
Requirements:
5+ years multi-line adjusting experience required
High School degree/equivalency required. Associates/Bachelors degree preferred
3+ years staff/department management experience required
Strong working knowledge of insurance regulations and guidelines
Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
Excellent organizational skills.
